North Central Ballet’s Nutcracker auditions in Fort Worth offer dancers the opportunity to be part of one of the longest-running full-length classical productions in the area.

Ages 5–7: 10:00–10:45

Ages 8–10: 11:00–12:00

Ages 11–12: 12:15–1:15

About the Nutcracker Production

North Central Ballet holds Nutcracker auditions in Fort Worth each August for dancers ages 5 and up. Now in its 32nd season, this full-length production provides serious classical ballet training and performance experience.

Auditions are held at North Central Ballet in Keller, serving families across Fort Worth, Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Trophy Club, Roanoke, Haslet, Watauga, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, and surrounding North Texas communities.
In 1993, Artistic Director Les Jordan established a clear vision for The Nutcracker. His goal was to preserve the structure, discipline, and tradition of classical ballet while keeping the production accessible to dancers across the community.

Now in its 32nd season, this production stands as one of the longest-running full-length Nutcrackers in Fort Worth.

This is not a recital or abbreviated version. It is a complete classical production.

Dancers train and rehearse within a structured environment that supports both technical development and stage experience.

Each year, dancers from across the metroplex audition. Casting is based on ability, preparation, and readiness. Every dancer is placed in roles that support growth.

Dancers perform alongside accomplished ballet artists. Through this experience, they gain a clear understanding of discipline, consistency, and attention to detail.

A production of this scale requires commitment. It also builds technique, confidence, responsibility, and a lasting respect for the art form.

Who May Audition

Auditions are open to dancers ages 5 and up from studios across the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Dancers do not need to be students at North Central Ballet to participate.

Many dancers join the production each year from other studios. All participants are placed based on ability and readiness.

Participation Requirements

  • Each dancer must audition for the production ($21.19 including online fee).
  • Each Dancer must sell a minimum of 1, ¼ page ad in the program ($135.00/$142.00 online)) Dentist, Dry Cleaner, Family Friends, Local Businesses, etc
  • Each dancer must sell 12 tickets at $35.00 each for performances*.
  • Buy One/Get One Half Price applies
    (2 half-price tickets = 1 full ticket credit).
  • Costume rental fee: $85.00 per costume. ($88.00 online)
  • Rehearsal fee: $130.00 per dancer. ($136.50 online)


Our goal is to keep participation accessible while maintaining the quality of a full-scale classical production. *does not include taxes and fees

Rehearsals

  • Held at North Central Ballet in Keller.
  • Typically scheduled on Saturdays.
  • Sunday rehearsals occur only near performance dates.
